In this talk, I will present the 4-metre Multi-Object Spectroscopic telescope as well as the recent news related to the on-going Science Phase Verification which aims to make different tests for all 4MOST science cases. I will in a second time present in more details the Cosmology Redshift Survey, especially the Bright Galaxies and Luminous Red Galaxies samples, as well as the quality checks and forecasts we did to optimisze the cosmological constraints on BAO and sigma8.
BIO
My name is Aurélien Verdier, I am a PhD student (4th year) at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) working with Professor Jean-Paul Kneib in Observational Cosmology. My work is moslty dedicated to provide galaxy catalogues for present and future spectroscopic surveys as 4MOST, MUST and WST and perform analysis on mitigation of systematics to optimize the clustering of galaxies and better constrain cosmological parameters.
