    Neutral hydrogen intensity mapping (HIIM) has become an emerging alternative probe of the cosmic large scale structure of the Universe. Radio telescopes can be used to map the distribution of the 21cm emission line of neutral hydrogen, yielding intrinsically spectroscopic surveys of LSS. In this talk, I will review the progress of the HIIM surveys of LSS, focusing in particular on the MeerKLASS survey using the MeerKAT telescope, as a precursor of Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO). The MeerKLASS collaboration has conducted pilot surveys at z~0.4, producing measurements of the clustering power spectrum in cross-correlation with spectroscopic galaxies. With the ongoing UHF survey covering ~10000 sqdeg covering z~0.4-1.4, MeerKLASS will produce measurements of HI clustering at >100 Mpc to Gpc scales in the near future. Future surveys with the SKAO will transform radio cosmology, enabling a wealth of studies on cosmology and galaxy evolution, in particular for multi-tracer analysis of LSS.

    BIO

    Zhaoting Chen is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh, working with Prof. Alkistis Pourtsidou on cosmic large scale structure. He obtained his PhD at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Dr. Laura Wolz and Prof. Richard Battye. His main research focus is on neutral hydrogen intensity mapping. He is currently the co-chair of the power spectrum working group of the MeerKLASS collaboration, and a member of the cosmology science working group of SKAO. In Nov 2026, he will join l'Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur as a Poincaré postdoctoral fellow.
